4-H Experience

A couple years ago me and my family entered into a horse show, we won a red ribbon (2nd) a white ribbon (3rd) and a yellow ribbon (4th)  Our horse Carousel is half Arabian, so she has quite a bit of spunk in her, and half American Saddlebred, so she is a bit bigger than a regular Arabian.  The round that we won the red ribbon, she was supposed to be in a trot, but she went into a gallop, and she almost ran over the judge!

Last year we showed three of our chickens, Silver Laced Wyondotte hen Pearl, White Black Tailed Japanese Bantam Mr. Rooster, and Brown Red Ameraucana rooster Harry.  We had forgotten that we had clipped Harry's wing so he wouldn't fly out of his pen.  Otherwise he most likely would've won 1st, but he only won 3rd.  But while I held Harry, and the judge was talking, Harry started crowing (We had raised him since he was 8 weeks old, so he crows while I hold him sometimes) right when the judge was talking!  The judge would say about two or three words, then he would have to stop, because he couldn't be heard over Harry's crowing.  HOW HUMILIATING!!!!!  Eventually, the judge was done with his short speech, and Harry stopped crowing.

My family raises German Shepherds too.  One of our dogs had puppies 1 1/2 months ago.  See the ones available at www.shannonsshepherds.blogspot.com  We have 7 puppies, and 6 are available, for now.  My family is one that likes a lot of music.

Some of my hobbies are playing the piano, the fiddle, the Irish Flute, the harmonica, and the spoons.  My Dad plays the guitar, and my Mom plays the piano.

It was really fun for us in 4-H, we had a great time.  If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!
